The country's energy systems have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced interruptions to water systems, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, as reported by area administrators.

Russian forces has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and implementing sanctions," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty missiles attacked energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were striving to restore power.

A series of attacks hit electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were preparing for additional strikes.
